Musée Départemental de la Résistance et de la Déportation
The Musée Départemental de la Résistance et de la Déportation (Departmental Museum of Resistance and Deportation) in Toulouse presents the local history of resistance and deportation in Toulouse and the Haute-Garonne region during the Second World War. The museum holds more than 10 000 individual objects and archival pieces which document local resistance, deportation, and daily civilian life in wartime. A permanent exhibit displays more than 150 physical objects, in addition to audiovisual witness testimonies from those who experiences resistance and deportation in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne.
The museum is administered by the Conseil Départemental de la Haute-Garonne, and was inaugurated on April 19, 1994. It was closed for renovation and exhibit reconstruction in 2018, and reopened in its current form in February 2020.
