ASYMMETRY. The International Museum of Political Violence

The International Museum of Political Violence in Rotterdam explores the wide spectrum of political violence throughout history through visual arts, design, multimedia, and (educational) technology.

The Museum is a permanent exploration of the arts and sciences in security history. The Museum is interested in the causes, dynamics and impact of political violence and asymmetric war. The Museum is established to actively engage with our neighborhood, educational institutions, public and private partners and society at large. Our primary goal is to develop vital reactions and answers to 21st century challenges in the security environment and cultural landscapes of global cities. The Museum explores this spectrum from non-violent resistance and protests to terrorism, coupe d’etat, and civil wars.
