Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation en Ardèche

The Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation en Ardèche (Museum of Resistance and Deportation in Ardèche) presents the history of occupation, resistance, and deportation in the Ardèche départment during the Second World War.

The Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation en Ardèche was conceived as a collaboration between multiple national and local groups dedicated to local history and the memory of resistance members and deportees, and was first opened in 1992 as a permanent exhibition on the first floor of a local building. The museum was moved to its current location in the larger and purposely-designed Espace Aden in 2011, coming under the jurisdiction of the municipal Communauté de Communes Ardèche-Rhône-Coiron. The institution gained a new mission statement as an institution to further promote local history and culture, and employs its expanded space to offer programming including temporary exhibitions, historical conventions, and educational programming and workshops for local school groups.
