Musée Airborne

The Musée Airborne (Airborne Museum) in Sainte-Mère-Église commemorates and displays artifacts from the American airborne infantry of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions, and their role in the Normandy Landings and the Battle of Normandy from June to August, 1944.

The museum’s permanent exhibits present the paratroopers’ role in the Normandy Landings along with the soldiers’ weapons, equipment, and uniforms and recorded testimonies from members of the 82nd and 101st Divisions. Museum visitors may also climb inside two preserved aircraft employed by the units: a WACO CG-4A troop and cargo glider, and a Douglas C-47 Skytrain aircraft.
