Museum of the Resistance of Bologna
The Museum, owned by the Municipality of Bologna, is located in the complex of the old Monastery of "S.Mattia". It houses several materials (documents, photographs, posters, multimedia products), relating to antifascism and Resistance in the City of Bologna as well as in Italy.
The Museum is managed by the Institute for History and Memories of '900 “Parri” of Emilia Romagna, hosted in the same complex. The Institute is in charge of cultural activities held in the Museum itself, and in the Library, with its Audio-visual and Didactic sections. It is also engaged in scientific activity of research and cultural promotion.
The plan of the museum
- Room 1 : Antifascism before Resistance. Opposition to Fascism in Italy, repression and participation of the Italian antifascists in the Spanish civil war
- Room 2 : War and Resistance in Bologna. Everyday life in the 20 months’ time between September 8, 1943 and Liberation
- Room 3 : Resistance in action. The protagonists, the settings and the phases of Resistance in the Bologna area
- Room 4 : Video/camera : Multimedia laboratory
- Room 5 : The post-Resistance period. The life-cycle of an ideal and the construction of memory
