Museum

The Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation (Museum of Resistance and Deportation) in Angoulême was opened in 1993 to record and commemorate the experiences of residents in the surrounding Charente départment during the Second World War.

The Musée 39 - 45 contains objects, weapons, equipment, civilian clothing, and military uniforms dating from the Second World War. Founded by military collectors Denis Barbe and Christophe Deschodt, the museum presents thousands of individual artifacts; more than 120 museum mannequins are displayed as personnel from numerous armed forces, equipped with period uniforms and weaponry and displayed in wartime situations. Demonstrating the international scope of the conflict, the museum aims to represent the realities of warfare faced by soldiers of different nations.     

L'Espace Mémoriel de la Résistance et de la Déportation (Memorial to Resistance and Deportation) traces the history of resistance and deportation in Agen and in the surrounding Lot-et-Garonne départment from 1939 through 1944. The memorial space contains period documents and objects, and is designed to capture the varied wartime experiences of citizens, local resistance groups, and those who faced or experienced deportation.

The Riga Ghetto was a small area in Maskavas Forštate, a neighbourhood of Riga, Latvia, designated by the Nazis where Jews from Latvia, and later from Germany, were forced to live during World War II. On October 25, 1941, the Nazis relocated all Jews from Riga and the vicinity to the ghetto while the non-Jewish inhabitants were evicted.

The Popular Front of Latvia (Latvian: Latvijas Tautas fronte) was a political organisation in Latvia in the late 1980s and early 1990s which led Latvia to its independence from the Soviet Union. The Museum of the Popular Front of Latvia is located in its former offices, which are owned by the state, in Vecpilsētas iela 13/15 in Riga.

The Latvian War Museum (Latvian: Latvijas Kara muzejs) is a military museum in Riga, the capital of Latvia.

The Vytautas the Great War Museum (Lithuanian: Vytauto Didžiojo karo muziejus) is a museum in Kaunas, Lithuania. It was built in Art Deco and early functionalism style.
